Many people will know that Jetstar doesn’t have the most stellar of reputations. But.
I use them all the time. I’m even in club Jetstar, which gives good flight discounts and early access to special deals on top of their generally low prices.
I think a lot of a person’s experience depends on the passenger’s perspective.Β
Yes there are delays sometimes (as with any airline) but I have never had a bad staff experience with Jetstar and when I recently (Feb 2023, the day after the Auckland cyclone) flew with them to and from Rarotonga the staff were outstanding and very attentive.Β
When we went to check-in at Auckland airport we learned that the plane was not full and the worker on desk took the initiative to offer to move my partner and I to the exit row seating (extra leg room!). Initially we had booked our tickets at separate times so this was a lovely surprise.
As with all flights that I take, I make sure to be very appreciative and polite to all the staff, and also either make sure my carry-on is under the limit orΒ
Β make it look like it is. (I almost never travel with checked luggage).
We had staff show discretion when we left Raro (our luggage was over but it was no problem).
Though no movies or food are included in the flight price, the flight from Auckland to Raro isn’t long and I prefer to simply stay hydrated on a short flight anyway. BYO devices/books for entertainment, some water or snacks and you’ll get where you need to go, in a safe flying vehicle travelling at an average of 800km/h, able to watch the sky and the clouds from above. π Enjoy your adventures. π
