This is going to be short, I tell myself.

I didn’t feel like writing at all yesterday or Tuesday (the day before yesterday). So I didn’t.

Just joking.

I sat for hours with the blog post tab open and ready for the words to pour out of me, to no avail. I sat at the train station and wrote a decent blog post plan, while waiting for my friend’s train to arrive. I went to the park with a friend, because my usual pattern of going to the local park to write a page’s worth of blog post ideas by myself seemed too hard this week.

I haven’t written a long wonderfully, thought-out post this week, and that’s ok. Because I tried. I have started writing the blog post that I meant to post in its entirety on Tuesday but didn’t. I have started and that is enough. I have taken some steps towards my goal, and I will keep taking them to achieve my goal even if the timeline I end up walking along is not the same as the one drawn up in advance.

Anyway, I hope this resonates with some of you wonderful people out there. Keep taking those baby steps towards your goals. Sometimes it’ll be easy and other times it will be like wading through metaphorical brain sludge, but keep going. Don’t minimise your progress. Be kind to yourself and to others along the way.

You will get there. I believe in you. Just keep swimming.
